91st Gable Reunion    8/3/2014

The 91st Gable Reunion was held at the Schlicher Farm in Corning PA. (Zionville) The Day was overcast and unusually cool for August with a high of 79° and low humidity. At 1:30pm it was 78° on the Farmhouse porch. Lunch started at 12 noon. The Business meeting started at 1:45pm with President Gable Young presiding.

 

At the start of the business meeting there were 57 people in attendance. America the Beautiful was sung, followed by the Lord’s Prayer.

 

The Secretary’s report from 2013 was read

The Treasurer’s report was not ready yet so the Historian’s report was done

Historian’s Report

               Kurt reported that a gentleman that came over on the boat Samuel with our ancestors. The gentleman was an officer in the Revolutionary War and the six sheets of men fined for missing days of service. Assumed to be because of the closeness to  Valley Forge.

               May be trying to record people on cellphones

A request was made to give email address for reminders
