The 58th Annual Reunion of the Gable Family was held on the Schlicher Farm in Corning. About 90 people were in attendance on a beautiful day. Greetings and opening remarks were made by President Mary Frederick. "God Bless America" was sung by all.
The Secretary's report was read by Ethel Schlegel. Three children were born since the last Reunion. They are: Jesse Paul Arthur, November 39, 1980, son of Vicky and Joe Arthur Catherine Diane Rennig, July 31, 1981, daughter of Stephen and Diane Rennig Lee Benjamin Young, October 5, 1980, son of Ronnie and Laurie Young
There were no marriages or deaths reported.
The Treasurer's Report was read and the final total was $196.90. Read by Donald Schlicher
Kathy Gable was appointed the new Game Chairman. Also, beginning in 1982, all officers will hold their office for 2 years, then move up to the next office with a new Game Chairman elected.
It was decided that candy will again be provided. Games Chairman will take care of that.
It was suggested that we conserve cups by marking our own and using only one.
Joy Schlicher gave a recitation. Fred Walbert was to take a group picture following the meeting. Copies will be available.
William and Florence Schliher were presented with a hand-crafted picture. The design done by Mary Young Frederick, the quilting by Ruby Young Reinik and the frame by Norman Reinik. The collection reported was $125.87. Bills received were $93.42.

We were asked not to bring silverware another year. We have enough now.
After singing "God Be with You," the meeting adjourned.
