The 56th Gable Family Reunion was held on the Schlicher Farm in Corning, PA. Opening remarks were made by President Diane Walbert followed by the singing of "Beneath the Cross of Jesus." There were 81 people in attendance.
The Secretary's report was read by Tom Gable and approved, as well as the report by the Treasurer, Ruby Reinik. The collection was taken and special presentations were made:
Oldest Car, William Schlicher
Least Amount of Change, Dale Gable
Newest Married, John and Shaorn Weber
Youngest Baby, Rebecca Massessa
Longest Fingernails, Mrs. John Schlegel

James and Rebecca Masessa to Tony and Clara Masessa, November 14, 1978
Death reported:
Francis Gable
Property Committee reported that some repairs are needed. Motion was made and seconded to purchase a roll of paper to cover tables. It was also asked that at least two people be nominated for each office so a real election can be held.
The hymn "God Be with You" was sung to close the Reunion.
Games and refreshments were enjoyed by all.
