OFFICER DESCRIPTIONS

August 5, 1984

The 61st Annual Gable Reunion was held at the Schlicher Farm on August 5, 1984. The day was hot and sunny, but was interrupted by a shower later on in the day. Our President, Ethel Schlegel, opened the meeting with a warm greeting to us all. She shared with us some history of out forefathers, and reminded the younger generation to be proud of whom they came from. We then sang, "God Bless America."

The Secretary's report was given and the foloowing wedding, births and deaths are as follows:

Elizabeth Ann Stichter, July 16, 1984, to Becky and Drew Stichter

The report was approved as read. We then had the collection and Treasurer's Report from Kathy Gable.
Previous balance - $244.65
Expenses paid - $164.30
Balance totals - $80.35
We said the Lord's PRayer after the collection totaled to $105.20 making the new balance totaling $185.55.

We then had special presentations made to the group from the Game Committee as follows:
Oldest person - Paul Young, 86 years
Oldest Car (there) - Don Schlicher
Most pictures in your wallet or purse - Mary Frederick
Newly married couple - Tom and Carol Gable
Person who played the most instruments - [unknown]

We were then treated to the singing of two songs by the Kermit Gable Children. Also, Ruth Gable read a poem entitled "Grandma's Apron" which brought back memories for us all.

We all joined in the singing of "God Be with You" and the meeting was adjourned. Games and ice cream were enjoyed by all, even through the rain.
