The 80th Gable Reunion was held August 3, 2003 at the Schlicher family farm. It was a typical August day that threatened rain. Seventy-five people attended and ate at 12:30 PM.
At 2:00 PM, President Andy Degler called the meeting to order. The Secretary's report was read by Curt Reink. There will be a change in the officer's arrangement. Carolyn Schlicher will serve in a new post, Secretary and Newsletter person. This position will remain in effect for six (6) years while the other positions rotate. It is hoped that more continuity will result from this arrangment, and that the address list can be kept more up-to-date because it remains on one computer for six consecutive years.
Neil Young was elected to be the Games person for 2004. Ages of children present were: 4and under, 6; 7-11, 11; and 12-15, 2.
Tent setup has been changed to Saturday evening from Friday. It was noted that table and bench cleaning is an improtant part of setup.
Treasurer's report was read by Heather Colon [pronounced "cologne"]. $3.28 was left this year after the bills were paid. Collection this year was $338.00.
It was confirmed that the Reunion is held the first Sunday in August, no matter the date.

Joy Pritchard led the children in games. Meeting was adjourned at 2:45 PM. Rain at 3:25 PM imterrupted the games for 45 minutes. We decided to serve the ice cream before the hayride.
