The 82nd Gable Reunion was held on Sunday, August 7, 2005 at the farm of William and Florence Schlicher. The day was cooler than last year, but still humid and overcast. The porch thermometer read 90 degrees (F).
The potluck meal began promptly at 12:30. Curt Reinik prayed the blessing.
At around 2:05 PM, Curt opened the business meeting and remarked about the number increase and how much he enjoyed visiting with all comers. He also complimented the food. Thanks were offered to the tent raisers.
The Lord’s Prayer was said. Welcome was given to Lowell Hawk, descendant of Peter Gabel, Jr.’s (Solomon Gable’s grandfather) brother.
Note was made that the Treasury is low. Curt Reinik encouraged us to give freely with the offering.
Secretary’s report was read. Dennis Frederick motioned to accept. Lowell Hawk seconded.

Historian’s report: Curt has updated book and would like those who weren’t here last year to give dates to update book.
Old business: none.
New business: Mary Frederick would like to make sure tables are covered because of splinters and age. Mary offered to get a roll of paper or plastic to cover tables. Donald Schlicher volunteered to be the source for that. Curt thanked Donald for that and for all the other behind-the-scene ways Donald has helped the Reunion this year.

Ronnie Young wanted to know from Donald Schlicher if there was anything we could do to help out.
Curt asked if some people could stay after the Reunion to clean up.
Ronnie Young supplied some stakes for the canopy this year. Randy Young will supply some more stakes.
Carolyn Schlicher volunteered to put job descriptions of the Reunion officers on www.GableReunion.com.
The meeting closed at 2:43 PM and games followed.
Guessing games were a wrapped cellophane basket, peppermint candies and 2 brown bags (guess contents)

Darryl Schlicher volunteered, with the help of his wife and oldest daughter, to be the Games person for next year.
